A railfan favorite, 2019 is a former New Haven FL9 built by EMD in 1960 which continued in service for Penn Central, Conrail, and Metro North Commuter Railroad, ending its days in 2009 restricted to branch-line-only service. FL9's were solely built for the New Haven and were originally Dual-Mode Locomotives and were capable of running off third rail into Grand Central Terminal. Currently undergoing mechanical work, 2019 will return to Naugatuck Railroad service this year! It currently wears the McGinnis New Haven paint scheme.
