Part of New Haven’s first road freight diesel set (0400-0450-0401) FA locomotives rapidly replaced steam freight power on the railroad in 1947 and 1948.  Retired in 1971 (as Penn Central 1330), the locomotive was converted to a head-end power car for the Long Island Rail Road in 1972.  It was donated to the RMNE in 1985 by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. This engine is currently not viewable to the general public.
