The Electro-Motive Company was a predecessor to General Motors’s Electro-Motive Division. The Boston & Maine (B&M) purchased 24 of these for use in local freight and switching service, numbered 1109-1132. 1109 was one of the first diesel locomotives to be used in New England.  B&M sold 1109 to M&B in 1959, and it was donated by PVRR to RMNE in 1986.

This locomotive is currently on the display track at Thomaston Station.
