Harvest Fest Express

Historic Thomaston Railroad Station 242 East Main St, Thomaston

Kick off the start of fall on the Naugatuck Railroad’s Harvest Fest Express! Enjoy a relaxing train ride along the river departing from the historic Thomaston Station to Fascia’s Chocolate Factory! Each ticket includes a bottle of fresh apple cider  Train rides will be 50 minutes in length roundtrip, with the option to lay over at Fascia’s Chocolate Factory for 1 hour. Fascia’s Harvest Fest activities include the chance to Make-Your-Own chocolate bar and a free presentation about chocolate. These activities are scheduled to fit within the 1 hour layover but have limited capacity and must be booked separately directly with Fascia’s Chocolates. Torrington Twilight Express

Historic Thomaston Railroad Station 242 East Main St, Thomaston

Looking for some family friendly fun on a Saturday night? Take a ride on the Torrington Twilight Express! Passengers on this excursion will have the chance to experience the northern most end of our rail line as they journey over the Thomaston Dam, through the woods, and along the river to Torrington! Once in Torrington, all passengers will have 2 1/2 hours to enjoy Downtown Torrington on a Saturday night. A list of suggested local restaurants will be provided, but reservations are the responsibility of the passengers and are suggested to be made in advance. The train will arrive in Torrington at the Water St platform at 5:15pm, and it is suggested that reservations be made for 5:30pm. Departure time to return to Thomaston will…

Litchfield Hills BBQ & Whiskey Special

Back for 2021 is our ever popular Litchfield Hills BBQ and Whiskey Special! Passengers on board this train will enjoy multiple tastings of high quality whiskey and bourbon from Maple End Packaging, as well as some of Litchfield Hill’s best BBQ served by Hindsight BBQ of Waterbury while in one of the finest venues Torrington has to offer at Bad Dog Brewing Company. The train will depart Thomaston Station at 5:30pm with an arrival time in Torrington at 6:15pm. Passengers on these excursions will enjoy a leisurely 1 hour and 20 minute train ride along the southern portion of our line. Here, the rail line closely follows the river, crossing it in several places allowing for breathtaking views of the river and autumn scenery. A brief venture is made north of the Thomaston Station over the famous Thomaston Dam, providing a vista like view over the Naugatuck River Valley. Chocolate Decadence Tour

Historic Thomaston Railroad Station 242 East Main St, Thomaston

Join the Naugatuck Railroad for a special night out on the rails!  Your evening will begin at 5:00 pm at the historic Thomaston Station where appetizers and your first wine and chocolate pairing will be served.  Departure will then occur at 6:00 pm featuring a ride up north to the face of the Thomaston Dam before heading south to Fascia's Chocolate Factory! These special trains will bring you along the southern end of our line allowing for great views of the river and surrounding scenery. During the Pumpkin Patch trains, visitors will also make a stop at the RMNE’s very own pumpkin patch. Here, kids will be able to go out and select their very own pumpkin to bring home.
