In addition to normally scheduled trains, the Railroad Museum of New England is proud to also offer charters upon request year round!

Whether your group is big or small, we can help fill your needs and provide you with a venue like no other. Here at the the RMNE, you have the option to book our historic Thomaston Station, or charter your very own private train ride pulled by one of our vintage diesel locomotives. You can even charter a train including our meticulously restored and maintained Rutland 260, a wooden first class car, which dates all the way back to the 1890s.

Our menu of options include:

• Coach: 70 Person Capacity
• Lounge: 40 Person Capacity
• Rutland 260: 32 Person Capacity

Examples of events we have chartered in the past include:

• Bus tours
• Weddings
• Family & group gatherings
• Company meetings and retreats

The Naugatuck Railroad also offers special rates for groups of 20+ on our normally scheduled train rides, excluding special rides such as the Santa Express and Northern Lights Limited. For these large groups, it is requested that you please contact us ahead of time to take advantage of the special discounted rates and ensure availability. Group discounts cannot be processed online or after tickets have already been purchased.

We ask that you please book charters at least one month ahead of time to allow adequate planning, preparation, and time to fulfill any special requests.
